Job Title: Recreation Therapist (Contract – 13 Weeks)Location: California 94590Pay Rate: $1,326 – $1,495Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)5 x 8-hour shifts weekly1 full weekend shift per month required (or Tue–Sat schedule considered)Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesPlans and delivers recreation-based therapy for patients with disabilities, injuries, or mental illnessProvides therapeutic interventions using arts, crafts, sports, games, music, drama, dance, movement, animals, and community activitiesConducts patient assessments using records, observations, standardized tools, and interdisciplinary inputDevelops, implements, evaluates, and adjusts individualized treatment plansSupports patient reintegration into community activities and resourcesCollaborates with physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and therapy staffDocuments care and patient progress per facility guidelinesPerforms additional related duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)Minimum 6 months inpatient psychiatric experience (children, adolescents, and adults) requiredCertification preferred: CTRS, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Movement/Dance Therapy, or Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT with trauma-informed focus or TCTSY-F)Social Worker, LMFT, or Addiction Counselor may be considered if aligned with therapeutic recreation focusNCTRC certification preferredAHA-BLS or ARC-BLS requiredTEAM, TEAM-A, or CPI certification requiredValid Driver’s License required (must be 21+)Organizational RequirementCompliance with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
