Job Description and Duties

Mall Services Department currently has four (4) Full-time Permanent Psychiatric Technician Assistant vacancies. The position placement may be within any of the following areas of the department: Stepping Stones (Program 4 off-unit treatment located outside the STA) or Mall Services inside the STA or Vocational Services (patient work sites) dependent upon operational needs. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate with patients in a therapeutic manner, express interest in treatment groups or vocational work sites, be able to take initiative, and multitask. A large portion of the day is spent escorting and monitoring patients, so the candidates who apply should expect walking to be a large part of their day. PTA’s in Mall Services also assist in monitoring the floor of treatment sites for cleanliness, safety, and ensure equipment is safe and functional complete daily tool control and be able to order unit supplies.

We are looking for a dynamic team player who wants to help improve treatment and make a difference in the lives of our patients here at DSH-Napa. Candidates need to be friendly, enthusiastic, and able to form therapeutic relationships with a wide variety of patients. Clear communication with patients, co-workers, and providers is critical to the job.
