Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, providing essential care and assistance in a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient well-being.

Duties

  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
  • Provide direct care and support to patients, including monitoring their behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities and interventions, including crisis intervention and behavior management techniques.
  • Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide grief counseling as needed.
  • Support patients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD through specialized care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans that address gender issues and other relevant factors.
  • Participate in ongoing training and research initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A background in behavioral health or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience or training in applied behavior analysis, crisis management, and crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of grief counseling practices is a plus.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the mental health field.
  • Must be able to pass background checks as required by facility policies.
