Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, providing essential care and assistance in a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient well-being.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
- Provide direct care and support to patients, including monitoring their behavior and emotional well-being.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities and interventions, including crisis intervention and behavior management techniques.
- Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide grief counseling as needed.
- Support patients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD through specialized care strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans that address gender issues and other relevant factors.
- Participate in ongoing training and research initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A background in behavioral health or related fields is preferred.
- Experience or training in applied behavior analysis, crisis management, and crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of grief counseling practices is a plus.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the mental health field.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by facility policies.
