Launch your career in behavioral health — and get paid to learn.

At The Inspired Community Project (TICP), we’re redefining what it means to start a career in ABA. We created New York State’s first Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program to open doors, remove barriers, and invest in passionate people like you.

If you love working with children, want meaningful work, and are ready to build a real career — this is your moment.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not your typical entry-level job — it’s a career-launching opportunity.

As a Behavior Technician Apprentice, you’ll join our Training & Excellence (T&E) Program, where you’ll receive:

  • Paid hands-on training from day one
  • A fully sponsored 40-hour RBT course
  • 50+ additional paid training hours
  • Weekly mentorship from experienced clinicians
  • Real-world experience in a supportive, child-centered environment
  • A clear path to Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
  • Opportunities for full-time growth after program completion

By the end of the program, you’ll be fully prepared to sit for the RBT exam — and step confidently into your career in behavioral health.

What You’ll Do

Learn. Grow. Make an impact — every single day.

You’ll work directly with children in a natural, play-based, supportive setting, while learning how to apply ABA strategies in meaningful ways.

You will:

  • Support children in building communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Create fun, engaging learning experiences
  • Implement treatment plans with clinical support
  • Track progress using digital data systems
  • Assist with classroom routines (snacks, transitions, drop-off/pick-up)
  • Support toileting/diapering as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment

A Team That Supports You

At TICP, collaboration is everything. You’ll:

  • Work alongside a mission-driven clinical team
  • Communicate with families and staff
  • Receive ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship
  • Be part of a positive, growth-focused culture

Bonus leadership opportunities available, including internal committees and boards.

Who You Are

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Are interested in pursuing RBT certification
  • Love working with children
  • Are reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Are open to feedback and committed to growth

Schedule

  • Full-time, on-site (40 hours/week)
  • Monday–Friday

Shift options (assigned after onboarding):

  • 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Rate: $18/hour

We offer:

  • Weekly pay
  • Paid lunch
  • Paid RBT training
  • Medical, vision, and HSA benefits
  • Commuter benefits
  • 401(k)

After 90 days:

  • Up to 6 weeks PTO (31 days total)
  • Paid holidays + organization-wide closure weeks

Requirements Before Start

Candidates must complete:

  • Background check & fingerprinting
  • Required NYS trainings (Mandated Reporter, Health & Safety, etc.)
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Physical Requirements:

This is an active, hands-on role. You should be able to:

  • Lift up to 40 lbs
  • Sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the day
  • Engage in floor play and movement-based activities
