About The Promise Counseling Center

The Promise Counseling Center (TPCC) is an outpatient psychotherapy practice committed to providing high-quality, trauma-informed mental health and substance use treatment. We serve adolescents and adults across Maryland and are the affiliated mental health provider for ITG Academy, a comprehensive substance use treatment program. This partnership allows for consistent internal referrals, a steady client pipeline, and a holistic approach to recovery.

We are currently expanding our remote clinical team and are seeking dedicated, licensure-holding professionals who value clinical excellence, flexibility, and a supportive team environment.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) to join our team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. This fully remote role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions via telehealth.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a minimum caseload of 15 clients per week with a focus on evening and weekend availability to meet client demand.

Core Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Provide individual and/or family psychotherapy via secure telehealth platform to diverse populations, including adolescents and adults.
  • Assessment & Planning: Conduct diagnostic assessments, clinical evaluations, and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.
  • Intervention: Deliver evidence-based therapies for substance use disorders, trauma/complex trauma, co-occurring mental health conditions, and family challenges.
  • Crisis Management: Engage in appropriate crisis intervention and management for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (currently Tebra/Kareo, transitioning to Ritten). All notes must be submitted within 48 hours of the session.
  • Collaboration: collaborate with case managers, medical professionals, and the ITG Academy team to ensure continuity of care.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Maryland Independent License: Must hold a valid LCPC, LCADC, or LCSW-C license. (LGPC/LMSW not eligible for this specific role).
  • Availability: Ability to commit to a minimum of 15 hours of availability per week.
  • Caseload: Ability to carry and maintain a minimum caseload of 15 active clients.
  • Schedule: Must have availability for evenings and/or weekends to accommodate client needs.
  • Experience: Proven experience providing psychotherapy to clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with telehealth platforms and EMR systems; ability to maintain a professional remote workspace.
  • Compliance: Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and Maryland legal/ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with both adolescents and adults.
  • Currently credentialed with Maryland Medicaid (highly preferred).
  • Specialized training in trauma-informed care or family therapy.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in insurance-based outpatient settings.

Performance & Documentation Standards

To ensure high standards of care and operational efficiency, this role has clear performance metrics:

  • Documentation Turnaround: All clinical notes must be submitted within 48 hours of service. Compensation is contingent upon timely documentation submission.
  • Caseload Maintenance: consistently maintain a minimum of 15 active clients.
  • Reliability: Maintain a low cancellation rate and high professional standards for client communication.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $50–$70 per clinical hour (Fee-for-Service). Rate is based on licensure, experience, and credentialing status.
  • Referrals: Immediate and consistent client referrals provided—no need to source your own clients.
  • Flexibility: 100% remote work with the ability to set your own schedule (within evening/weekend needs). There are times where you may need to come to the office for meetings and/or trainings.
  • Support: Credentialing support provided if needed.
  • Growth: Professional development and CEU opportunities available.
  • Mission-Driven: Be part of a diverse, inclusive organization that values "People First."
