Psychiatrist Physician – Locum Tenens | Loma Linda, CA

Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist Physician to join a collaborative and highly respected behavioral health team. This is a long-term locum tenens opportunity in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment serving a diverse patient population across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.

The physician will provide comprehensive psychiatric care — including evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and crisis intervention — working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations for a diverse patient population, including geriatric patients and those with complex psychosocial challenges such as PTSD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and psychosis
• Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, and crisis intervention
• Manage psychiatric emergencies, including assessments for potential inpatient hospitalization
• Deliver psycho-diagnostic services and utilize appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques across outpatient, inpatient, ED, and telehealth settings
• Order diagnostic tests and consultations and make independent, evidence-based treatment decisions
• May serve as mental health team leader, coordinating consults and triage of specialty clinic referrals
• Participate in team meetings, treatment planning conferences, and collaborate with multidisciplinary care team members
• May participate in supervision and teaching in support of the psychiatric residency program

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution approved for graduate medical education
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
• Completed residency training in an ACGME or AOA accredited psychiatry program
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for community-based care activities

Schedule

• Inpatient and outpatient coverage based on clinical need
• On-call duties as required by the behavioral health service schedule
