Description
Responsibilities listed are not limited to other duties assigned:
- Will assist students in our PreK-8 school setting as an advocate for the development of the whole child.
- Provide direct services to students in the areas of child and adolescent development, education strategies, self-management, and social interaction skills to help students in achieving success in school.
- Provide crisis management to students and faculty.
- Support students in mentally processing their challenges and/or adjustments to school through goal setting and action planning.
- Contact and stay connected to parents to assist them in the understanding of and constructive participation in their child’s progress.
- Build and maintain comprehensive, school-wide preventative needs programming.
- Consult with other school personnel in gathering and sharing appropriate information, as well as to establish staff roles and responsibilities regarding student needs beyond general academic education.
- Keep appropriate records of cases for use by school staff members and non-school reporting agencies.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on students referred for evaluation.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and principal.
- Attend required faculty and staff meetings.
- Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities and projects.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students and general school matters.
Work with the resource team to assist with behavioral and academic supports.
Qualifications Required
- Illinois State License as a Counselor or School Social Work
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a growth mindset and seek opportunities for feedback
- Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
- Sensitive and responsive to the needs of others
- Deep belief in the potential of all children and the values of Catholic education

This position has an annualized salary range of $45,000.00 - $55,000.00. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
