Support Healing, Growth, and Resilience in Pediatric Care

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Rehabilitation Psychologist to join a highly collaborative inpatient rehabilitation team serving children and adolescents with complex medical and neurological conditions.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical psychology, rehabilitation, and family-centered care, supporting young patients as they navigate recovery and adjustment.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological care to pediatric patients with conditions such as brain injury, developmental disorders, and other medically complex diagnoses
  • Support patients’ emotional adjustment, coping, and behavioral regulation during intensive rehabilitation
  • Work closely with families, providing education, coaching, and ongoing support throughout hospitalization
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers including therapy teams, nursing, and physicians to enhance patient engagement and outcomes
  • Contribute to individualized care planning, including behavioral strategies and trauma-informed approaches
  • Participate in team meetings, rounds, and care coordination efforts
  • Provide consultation to staff on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors impacting recovery

Program Growth & Opportunities

  • Engage in development of day rehabilitation programming and transitional care models
  • Contribute to expanding outpatient psychology services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program innovation efforts
  • Opportunity to shape services within a growing pediatric rehabilitation program

What You Bring

  • Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • Eligible for or holding a New York State Psychologist license
  • Experience in pediatric psychology, rehabilitation, or hospital-based settings
  • Strong interest or experience working with neurological conditions, brain injury, and medically complex pediatric populations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
  • Postdoctoral training in pediatric or rehabilitation psychology is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply
