Now Hiring: Treatment Foster Care Clinician
The Children's Guild | Baltimore, Maryland
Are you a clinician who believes every child deserves a safe, loving, and healing home?
At The Children's Guild, we are committed to ensuring that children in foster care receive the therapeutic support, stability, and individualized care they need to heal, grow, and thrive. We are looking for a compassionate, skilled Treatment Foster Care Clinician to join our Baltimore team and make a lasting difference in the lives of some of our most vulnerable children and families.
Who We Are
The Children's Guild is a nonprofit organization and affiliate of TranZed Alliance — one of the most experienced child-serving organizations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. Our Treatment Foster Care program provides therapeutic, community-based foster care services to children and youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs — partnering with dedicated foster families to create safe, nurturing, and healing environments.
The Opportunity
As a Treatment Foster Care Clinician, you will serve as the primary clinical support for children in foster care and their foster families — providing therapy, crisis support, and wraparound services that promote healing and permanency. You will:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and youth in treatment foster care placements
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with each child's needs and permanency goals
- Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., TF-CBT, CBT, play therapy)
- Provide crisis intervention and on-call support to foster families as needed
- Recruit, train, and support foster families in implementing therapeutic strategies at home
- Collaborate with foster families, caseworkers, school staff, courts, and community providers to coordinate comprehensive care
- Monitor placement stability and work proactively to prevent placement disruptions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with COMAR, OHCQ, and agency standards
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development
- Drive cultural transformation efforts by championing a trauma-informed, family-centered culture within the program
What We're Looking For
✔ Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required)
✔ Active licensure in Maryland (LCSW, LCPC, LMSW, LGPC, or working toward full licensure)
✔ 2+ years of clinical experience working with children, youth, and/or families in a foster care, child welfare, or community-based setting
✔ Knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
✔ Familiarity with Maryland child welfare regulations and COMAR requirements
✔ Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
✔ Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and on-call rotations
✔ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home and community visits
✔ Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
