Essential Functions:

  • Assess and license foster/kinship/adoptive families who can provide a nurturing and safe environment for children.
  • Make determinations regarding the approval or rejection of foster/kinship/adoptive home applicants.
  • Schedule and conduct a preliminary home study of prospective foster/kinship/adoptive parents.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-service training for potential foster/kinship/adoptive parents.
  • Assure that foster/kinship/adoptive home records are in compliance with state regulations, contract requirements, Council of Accreditation (COA) requirements, and The Bair Foundation policies and procedures.
  • Approve ongoing training for certified foster/kinship/adoptive parents.
  • Perform and arrange foster/kinship/adoptive home care re-certifications as required by state regulations, contract requirements, COA requirements, and The Bair Foundation policies and procedures, if applicable.
  • Ensure budgeted child placement goals are met thru building and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources and recruiting of families.
  • Responsible for the referral process for child placement from beginning to end.
  • Make appropriate matches and place children (Kinship Coordinator accomplishes this thru assessment of the family prior to certification).
  • Network with referral sources to increase placements.
  • Become proficient in The Bair Foundation’s model of care.
  • Supervision of a recruiter, if necessary.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
