Job Summary

Join our dynamic mental health team as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in comprehensive mental health counseling. In this vital role, you will provide expert therapeutic services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their mental health goals through evidence-based practices. This position offers an engaging environment where your clinical skills will make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives while supporting their journey toward wellness. This position allows you to accrue direct client hours and one on one supervision hours for pre-licensure and fully licensure state of Illinois requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing DSM-5 to establish treatment plans.
  • Deliver individual, group, or family therapy sessions employing evidenced base modalities.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety.
  • Provide specialized counseling for issues such as PTSD care, grief, addiction, gender identity concerns, chronic pain management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to reach clients remotely while maintaining high-quality clinical standards.

Qualifications

  • LPC
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques.
  • Skilled in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies for acute mental health episodes or trauma-related events.
  • Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations for mental health disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders etc.
  • Experience with outpatient clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with social work principles and case management to support long-term client outcomes.
  • Competence in delivering patient care through direct support roles while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions for accurate documentation and interdisciplinary communication.
