Department: Aquatics

Location: Park Country Club – Williamsville, NY
Employment Type: Seasonal / Part-Time

Schedule: As determined by Aquatics Director | Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays 

Season: Memorial Day - Labor Day

Salary: $20 - $22 per hour

Position Overview

Park Country Club is seeking a motivated and engaging aquatics team member to serve in a dual role as both lifeguard and dive team coach. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong aquatics background who are passionate about safety, youth development, and creating exceptional member experiences.

This role combines the responsibility of maintaining a safe pool environment with leading and developing the Club’s junior dive team. The ideal candidate brings energy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence consistent with the standards of a premier private club.

  

Key Responsibilities

Lifeguard Duties

  • Maintain constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure the safety of members and guests 
  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations in a professional and consistent manner 
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in accordance with established procedures 
  • Perform daily safety checks of pool facilities, equipment, and deck areas 
  • Provide a welcoming and attentive presence for members, assisting with general aquatics needs 

Dive Team Coaching Duties

  • Plan and lead dive team practices for junior members of varying skill levels 
  • Instruct proper diving techniques, including board work, approaches, entries, and safety 
  • Prepare divers for competitions and manage participation in scheduled meets 
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment 
  • Communicate effectively with parents and aquatics leadership regarding schedules and progress 

General Aquatics Support

  • Assist with swim lessons, clinics, and aquatics events as needed 
  • Support overall pool operations and member programming throughout the season 

  


  


Requirements:

 Qualifications

  • Current Lifeguard Certification required (American Red Cross or equivalent)      
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required 
  • Prior diving experience required; coaching experience preferred 
  • Strong understanding of aquatic safety standards and best practices 
  • Experience working with children in a structured environment preferred 
  • Professional, reliable, and personable with strong communication skills 

Schedule & Seasonal Details

  • Seasonal position (May through September) 
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  • Coaching hours will be supplemented with lifeguarding shifts based on operational needs 

New York State Labor Compliance & Requirements 

  • Employment  is in accordance with New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) regulations 
  • All employees must complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and Form W-4 prior to start 
  • Required certifications must remain current throughout employment

Compensation details: 20-22 Hourly Wage
