Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


This role offers the opportunity to support high school students as a counselor during the 2026-2027 academic year in Sparks, NV. The position is a contract role starting August 10, 2026, and ending June 4, 2027, working 20-25 hours per week over four days.

Responsibilities include providing guidance and support to students with a focus on social-emotional needs, trauma, home challenges, conflict resolution, behavioral management, and regular student check-ins. The counselor will manage a caseload of high school students, helping them navigate personal and academic challenges to promote a positive school experience.

Qualifications:

  • Valid counseling credentials or certifications required to practice in a school setting
  • Experience working with high school-aged students
  • Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to provide one-on-one counseling and group interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
