Duties
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic advising, behavioral health, mental health counseling, and social-emotional development to support students’ overall well-being.
- Develop and implement personalized behavior management plans to promote positive conduct within the classroom and school environment.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to identify student needs and track progress over time.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds, ensuring inclusive classroom experiences.
- Coordinate with child protective services and child welfare agencies when necessary to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Offer crisis intervention and conflict management support during emergencies or behavioral incidents, maintaining a calm and proactive approach.
- Advocate for students’ mental health needs by connecting families with community resources such as social work services or specialized behavioral health programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid school counselor certification or license as required by state or local regulations.
- Proven experience working with children and students in educational settings, including classroom experience or childcare roles.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, teachers, and community partners.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavioral health practices, and conflict management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education processes and accommodations for diverse learners.

Pay: $44,651.44 - $57,773.78 per year
