We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic staff member to join our Operations Division as a Quality Assurance Senior Community Support Specialist.
The QA Senior Community Support Specialist plays a vital role in the Department’s continuous process improvement efforts to ensure public benefit programs are accurate, timely, and aligned with state requirements. As part of an independent review unit, this position is responsible for auditing case files to identify errors, trends, and best practices, while collaborating with Community Support Specialists, managers, and State of Colorado policy staff to support corrections and report findings. The role also provides guidance, recommends training and process improvements, and helps strengthen program quality through collaboration and consistency.
The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5pm . This position is a hybrid position and will require at least one day/week in the office. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides a one-time remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.
Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Conducting county-level case reviews to ensure accuracy and proper issuance of public benefits, including Medicaid, Adult Financial, Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP), Colorado Works (CW), and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county regulations and alignment with established policies and procedures.
- Documenting review results and provide clear, actionable guidance to specialists and supervisors, including required corrective actions and timelines.
- Analyzing review results to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern; provide recommendations to support training, process improvements, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Serving as a resource to staff by providing technical assistance and guidance on eligibility rules, regulations, and case review processes.
- Coordinating, compiling, and submitting required documentation for state-level case reviews, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
- Reviewing and monitoring state audit findings for accuracy, initiate rebuttals when appropriate, and communicate outcomes to relevant staff.
- Supporting communication between the County and state partner agencies by responding to requests, sharing updates, and ensuring compliance with review requirements.
- Participating in and, when needed, representing the County in state meetings; communicating key updates and policy changes to internal teams. Collaborating with internal teams and leadership to promote consistency, accountability, and high-quality service delivery across all programs.

What We're Looking For
- Experience with quality assurance activities for eligibility programs.
- Ability to interpret and apply eligibility program rules for Medicaid, SNAP, Adult Financial, Child Care Assistance Program, and Colorado Works.
- Knowledge and experience navigating state databases for eligibility programs.
- Ability to evaluate data trends, identify root causes, and communicate recommendations for policy or program improvements.
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Two (2) years experience in a directly related field, including one (1) year of experience equivalent to that of a Community Support Specialist II or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities in a human services program required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
