True Blue Behavioral Health, LLC is seeking an experienced, licensed doctoral-level psychologist (PhD or PsyD) to conduct 53 police psychological assessments. These evaluations support fitness/suitability determinations related to armed law enforcement duties and must align with guidance for personnel evaluations (non-therapeutic).

This is a high-accountability, fast-turn engagement for psychologists who are confident in structured occupational/forensic workflow and can meet firm production and documentation standards.

What You’ll Do

You will complete evaluations that include:

  • Reviewing and obtaining a required Authorization/Consent
  • Conducting a standardized, consistent individual interview mapped to California POST screening dimensions
  • Administering and interpreting psychological testing as required by guidance: (1) Pre-employment evaluations: standardized objective testing with validity scales and at least two broadband tests (one normal-range personality + one psychopathology/personality problems); and (2) Annual/periodic evaluations: standardized interview plus screening tools (e.g., PHQ-2, PC-PTSD, AUDIT); additional testing only when indicated by concerns
  • Producing an integrated written recommendation report (templates provided; minimal disclosure, functional focus)
  • Submitting final reports securely and on time for transmission to the VA Agency Medical Officer

Note: These are occupational/personnel evaluations, not therapy.

Productivity & Deadlines

  • Expected production: 2 completed assessments per on-site day
  • Quality cap: maximum 3 per day
  • Report submission deadline: within 24 hours of the evaluation (internal standard to maintain VA schedule)

Schedule & Location

  • All evaluations are conducted on-site in Durham, NC
  • Scheduling is coordinated to accommodate officer shift schedules
  • Must be available to start March 2026 (immediate scheduling upon hire)

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Active, unrestricted psychology license (must be independently licensed; associates/provisional roles are not eligible as the evaluator of record)
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Law enforcement / public safety psychological evaluations, Occupational / fitness-for-duty evaluations, Forensic assessment and structured report writing
  • Strong testing competency and comfort with structured, defensible documentation
  • Ability to meet firm submission timelines consistently

Who This Role Is NOT For

This role is not a fit for psychologists who:

  • Prefer open-ended documentation timelines or extended turnaround
  • Are uncomfortable with production expectations and acceptance-based payment
  • Need extensive administrative support to complete reports
  • Primarily practice in a therapeutic/exploratory assessment model

Pay: $1,600.00 - $1,700.00 per day

Work Location: In person
