Residential Aide (Substance Abuse Treatment Center)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Aide to join our Substance Abuse Treatment Center. As a Residential Aide, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to our residents on their journey to recovery. Your primary responsibility will be administering medications to residents under the guidance and supervision of licensed medical professionals.

Responsibilities:

Medication Administration: Ensure accurate and timely administration of prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols and procedures.

Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of medication administration, including dosage, time, and any observed reactions or side effects.

Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional well-being to the medical staff promptly.

Communication: Collaborate with the medical team, counselors, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination regarding medication-related issues.

Supportive Care: Provide emotional support and assist residents with their daily activities as needed, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.

Compliance: Adhere to all legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines governing medication administration and resident care.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies, following established protocols and seeking assistance when necessary.

Safety and Security: Maintain a secure and orderly environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff.

Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential resident information with the utmost professionalism and respect for privacy.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a residential treatment center or healthcare setting is preferred.

Basic understanding of substance abuse treatment principles and practices.

Knowledge of medication administration procedures and practices, including proper dosage calculations and documentation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and handle emergencies effectively.

Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion towards individuals struggling with substance abuse issues.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

Flexibility in work schedule, as the role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Valid CPR, First Aid, and Med Tech certifications (or willingness to obtain them).
