A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to provide essential support within a school setting in Bridgeport, CT. This contract position focuses on promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of students by conducting assessments, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with educators and families to foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to design and implement behavior management strategies.
- Provide counseling and support services to students to enhance educational outcomes and emotional well-being.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and modify interventions as necessary.
- Assist in crisis intervention and develop strategies to address school-wide behavioral concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal regulations related to special education.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist in Connecticut.
- Strong understanding of educational laws, special education processes, and assessment tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently within a contract role.
