Description:

Are you eligible for your limited permit in mental health counseling and are looking for a part-time, remote job to gain more clinical experience to accrue hours towards licensure? Are you dedicated to your growth as a counselor, self-motivating, and great with time management skills and organization? Then this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

Cognitive Reset Counseling is a Brooklyn-based private practice. While we specialize in anxiety disorders in adults, we are in present need of a remote limited permit mental health counselor to work with clients overcoming their mental health concerns of all kinds.

The practice puts an emphasis on using CBT, neuroscience, and other empirically verified techniques to help clients in a way that is understandable and practical for the client. You will be encouraged to use the techniques that are comfortable for you but will be challenged to really hone in on them and supported to learn more methods to add to your counseling toolbox.

Duties:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans
  • Conduct therapeutic activities and interventions to promote cognitive and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide individual and couples counseling when necessary
  • Monitor and document patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HIPAA compliant records including legal and ethical requirements of the profession
  • Appointment scheduling using an online practice management system
  • Must maintain a minimum of 20 client hours a week (may work with up to 25 client hours if you choose) between morning/daytime, afternoon/evening or weekend shifts (or a combination) – afternoon/evening are in highest demand from clients

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling required.
  • Must be limited permit eligible in New York
  • Must pass a background check
  • Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and ability to handle high-stress situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Be flexible and receptive to change as we are an expanding and growing practice

Note: The position can not be offered to Social Workers or Marriage and Family therapists.

$32.00 per hour then $37.00 after trial period of 60 days. Pay increase once 1500 hours towards licensure is accrued.
