Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team in providing high-quality behavioral health services. In this role, you will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA). The Behavior Technician will play a vital role in supporting patient care, conducting assessments, and collecting data to monitor progress. Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans tailored to each client's needs, utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors and progress during therapy sessions.
- Assist with patient assessments and intake procedures to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Support clients with daily activities, promoting skill development and independence.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education professionals and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor client responses during therapy sessions and adjust strategies as directed by supervising clinicians.
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with behavioral health practices and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Skills
- Experience with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Strong data collection and documentation skills for tracking client progress.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, patient assessment, and medical records management.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities in a compassionate manner.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine desire to support behavioral health improvements. Prior experience in special education or behavioral health is advantageous but not required; training will be provided to ensure success in the role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
