School Counselor - Forest Lake, Minnesota

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A middle school is seeking an experienced onsite guidance counselor to provide support for general education students during a maternity leave. This contract position runs from January 12, 2026, through June 5, 2026, with a standard full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM. The caseload will be based at the middle school in Forest Lake, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance counseling to middle school students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success
• Implement intervention plans and assist students in goal setting
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Participate in student meetings and school-wide initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

• Valid license for General Education School Counselor
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a school team environment
• Flexibility and openness to commit to the contract dates covering maternity leave
