Experteer Overview In this role you support the Comprehensive Pain Center within MVAHCS, delivering advanced psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions for Veterans with complex pain and co-morbid conditions. You collaborate with CPC staff and external partners to coordinate care, develop treatment and discharge plans, and educate Veterans and families. You lead psychotherapy, biofeedback, and behavioral medicine efforts, contributing to program quality and education. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to advance pain rehabilitation and implement outcome-driven practices. Compensation / Benefits • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnose mental disorders in complex Veterans • Deliver education to Veterans, family members, and significant others • Consult CPC staff, medical center, and VISN referrals to coordinate treatment plans and discharge plans • Provide consultation to other health care providers to ensure integrated care • Administer a range of therapeutic interventions (individual, couples/family, group) including psycho-educational groups and specialized methods like Biofeedback and CBT for chronic pain • Apply evidence-based interventions and educate teams on new techniques • Implement behavioral medicine approaches to manage pain, sleep problems, weight, tobacco cessation, and medical compliance • Develop, implement, and document psychotherapeutic treatment plans for CPC patients • Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to staff and trainees in education and evidence-based management • Facilitate continuing education, promote teamwork on evidence-based practices, and support staff in research dissemination and grant processes • Oversee program monitors and outcome measurements using data-driven quality assurance • Ensure timely clinical charting and documentation; plan or oversee research initiatives and present outcomes when applicable • Engage in faculty activities or training collaborations as appropriate • Participate in Medical Center committees or task forces as assigned Tasks • Experience in clinical psychology with assessment and diverse therapeutic modalities • Ability to educate Veterans, families, and professionals • Strong collaboration and consultation skills within multidisciplinary teams • Experience with evidence-based practices and program evaluation • Willingness to learn and administer Biofeedback in pain treatment • Leadership or teaching experience with staff, trainees, and external stakeholders • Capability to manage documentation and contribute to research or program development Key requirements •
