Gaston Social Services: Protecting, caring for, and empowering children and adults who are temporarily or permanently unable to care for themselves through the administration of federal, state, and county programs focused on improving the well-being of our citizens. An anticipated hourly salary range for this position is $24.71 to $28.72.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The duties listed below are not all the duties that may be assigned, but are those considered essential for an employee to perform.Provides comprehensive victim and family advocacy services, including crisis intervention, trauma education, systematic guidance, and any needed referrals. Completes referrals for trauma-informed therapeutic services. Please note that this can occur during nontraditional hours and on an “on-call” basis. These services can include necessary emergency responses to local hospitals, based on need and an on-call rotation.Documents all activities, including family advocacy services/service referrals/follow-up contacts. Prepares information for bi-weekly MDT case review meetings.Participates in local, professionally enhancing, and state-mandated trainings. Participates in MDT meetings where specific cases are discussed in a multi-disciplinary setting. Participates in monthly staff meetings to discuss needs, updates, and other relevant topics.Assists in data collection and management of statistical reports.Conducts other duties as assigned related to Child Advocacy Center needs and services. This includes staffing the Social Services response to the community emergency shelter, as needed.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.In compliance with G.S. 160A-164.2(b), if the position being filled requires an applicant for employment to work with children in any capacity, the County must require the applicant, if offered the position, to be subject to a criminal history record check conducted by the SBI. These checks must be performed in accordance with G.S.143B-1209.26, which authorizes the SBI to provide fingerprint-based state and national criminal record checks to cities and counties.
