Respite Recreation Counselor (Queens Village and Garden City, NY)

The Respite/Recreation Direct Support Professional will report to the Program Leader. The Respite/Recreation DSP will be responsible to assist in the development and implementation of all Respite/Recreation activities as well as provide direct support assistance including ADL's and direct support to all recreation participants.

The shift available at this location (Queens village and Garden City) is: 16 hours per week (Saturday & Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm).

You must have have a valid driver's license and a HS diploma/GED to be considered for this position. Some experience with the IDD population is preferred but not required.

• Provide direct support to individuals attending programs while at recreation outings.

• Provide direct support with ADL's and feeding for people who require assistance.

• Provide ongoing communication with families regarding transportation, participation in activities and program updates.

• Perform other duties as assigned
