Position Title: Mobile Crisis Counselor: (QMHP, QMHP-T, CSAC-S, CSAC, RPRS)
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (or Trainee), the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor-Supervisee (CSAC-S) the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS). MUST be credentialed by the Virginia Board of Counseling, to provide crisis services to children, adolescents, and adults and to complete all the necessary documentation. MUST HAVE completed the DBHDS MCR training.
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL PAY RATES
Weekend Day Shift 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
(Saturday & Sunday $35.00 per hour)
Night Shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Monday through Sunday) $40.00 per hour
- Conduct behavioral and mental health crisis interventions for individuals.
- Provide intensive crisis services as applicable, individual support, 1:1 therapeutic counseling, psycho-educational support services, behavioral support services and peer support services to meet the individual's needs.
- Interact with all clients in accordance with the Crisis Individualized Service Plan (ISP), and therapeutic process guidelines.
- Initiate and facilitate verbal de-escalation techniques and strategies to assist the client in maintaining self-control.
- Exercise client interventions via the least restrictive option to protect clients from harming self or others.
- Coordinate client services closely with other staff and community service providers to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities and services being provided.
- Serve as liaison to referral sources and families regarding progress and needs (attending meetings, court hearings, etc.).
- Develop therapeutic relationships with clients that will encourage positive responses to treatment interventions.
- Provide 24-hour emergency client response as needed.
- Assess, always evaluate and monitor the safety of clients and others.
- Display excellent communication techniques throughout services; particularly relating to significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concern, etc.
- Administer First-Aid/CPR to clients in response to minor medical problems.
- Complete daily progress notes in BIRP format
- Conduct Care Coordination to ensure linkage with community service providers
I: Essential Job Functions:
- Provide individual and family crisis stabilization
- Ensure appropriate and helpful client interactions
- Promote good community relations and utilizes needed community services
- Function as case manager for clients, providing all case management functions (i.e., preparation of progress reports)
- Uphold the mission, philosophy, and goals of EYPC
- Provides training for individuals/groups in specific life and social skill areas
- Provides case management/coordination and integration of services
- Maintains documentation pertaining to client’s medical records, including completion of progress notes and service plans
- Perform so their duties are related to the support of developing independent living and social skills.
II: Qualifications:
- Must be deemed a QMHP, QMHP-T, CSAC-S, CSAC or RPRS by the Virginia Board of Counseling. Possess a Bachelor’s and/or a Masters’ Degree in a field related to human services/behavioral sciences with 2 years of experience with the mental health population.
- Must be deemed a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T) by the Virginia Board of Counseling. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to human services/behavioral sciences with the mental health population.
- Candidate must have completed DBHDS Crisis training
III: Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, clinical skills, including family therapy, individual therapy, life skills counseling techniques appropriate intervention procedures with socially/emotionally maladjusted clients.
- Must demonstrate a competent level of academic skills necessary to perform the responsibilities critical to this position.
- Possess certification in MCR Training, First Aid, CPR, Crisis Wave and/or TOVA (preferable) and must present a valid Virginia Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.
- Must complete a clear/eligible criminal background check, and CPS check.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
