A K-12 school in Reading, PA, is seeking a skilled School Social Worker for a leave contract position starting in February, with an end date to be determined.

This role involves supporting students, families, and school staff through a variety of social work services designed to promote academic success, emotional well-being, and positive social development. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic educational environment, addressing the unique challenges faced by students and collaborating with educators to create supportive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and connect students and families to community resources.
  • Document casework activities and maintain confidentiality.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification to practice as a School Social Worker.
  • Experience working in school settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
