Job Summary:

The Behavior Technician is responsible for delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role involves implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at helping clients from diverse backgrounds to develop essential skills, manage challenging behaviors, and achieve specific, measurable progress. The Behavior Technician will engage directly with clients in various settings, contributing to a supportive environment that facilitates skill acquisition and behavioral improvement.

Client Demographics:

  • The Behavior Technician will primarily work with clients ranging in age from children, adolescents and adults.
  • Clients may present with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other developmental or behavioral disorders.
  • The role may involve working with clients exhibiting a range of behavioral challenges, including but not limited to aggression, self-injurious behavior, and communication difficulties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement individualized ABA treatment plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Collect and document data on client progress and behaviors, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide direct one-on-one support to clients in home, community, and clinic settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the BCBA and other team members to assess client needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and motivating environment to encourage client learning and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members regarding client progress and challenges.
  • Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all client interactions.

Job Specifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to observe and document client progress accurately.
  • Successful completion of a background check as required by company policy.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders is preferred.
  • Experience in a clinical, educational, or home setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques
  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, move, and handle up to 25 pounds frequently and assist with lifting clients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting, for extended periods in various settings.

Transportation Requirements:

  • Travel Required: The Behavior Technician is required to travel to various client locations, including homes, schools, and community settings, as part of their job responsibilities.
  • Reliable Transportation: Candidates must have reliable transportation to travel between client appointments and the office as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
