Experteer Overview In this role you support adolescent mental health within a Juvenile Justice residential setting as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will lead psychological assessment, supervise others, and contribute to treatment planning and discharge planning. You’ll work with youths, staff, and educators to strengthen emotional and behavioral skills, underpinning secure and rehabilitative outcomes. This NY HELPS position offers clinical supervision, ongoing trainings, and opportunities to impact youth wellbeing at scale. Compensation / Benefits • Order and maintain updated testing and assessment materials • Supervise testing/assessments conducted by Masters-level and unlicensed psychologists • Conduct admission screening, mental-status exam, and suicide assessment • Lead 30-day psychosocial assessment with mental health and substance-use screening; develop treatment plan • Collaborate with youths’ psychiatrist on treatment planning • Provide individual and group counseling and psychotherapy • Oversee treatment reviews and cognitive/psychological testing as indicated • Serve on the facility Committee on Special Education and assist with discharge planning • Coordinate with youth case managers, direct care, education, and medical staff to implement comprehensive treatment plans • Contribute to skill development in emotional intelligence, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance Tasks • Licensed and registered to practice psychology in New York State • Must maintain an active NY license and registration • Wamiliarity/eligibility for NY HELPS (open-competitive minimum qualifications) • May require transfer from another title (55b/c or 70.1) • Criminal background check and SCR screening required • Potential to be checked against SEL for past abuse/neglect • Flexible within 7am–6pm schedule; no mandatory overtime or compressed week Key requirements • flexible work hours offered • geographic pay of $20,000 • starting salary of $117,875 • state employee benefits (as part of NY state employment) • ongoing clinical trainings with CEUs
