Seeking a therapist who is interested in providing individual therapy and group therapy for clients in a private outpatient Music Therapy Program. On-site position for a Counselor, Psychotherapist, Social Worker or Associate, LPC, LCMHC-A, LCMHC, LFMT-A, LFMT, LCSW-A, LCSW.

Norfolk Industrial Park - Norfolk, VA

Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Salary: $42-56/hr *Pay based on experience

Weekdays ONLY: 10 -15 hours weekly

DUTIES:

  • Lead weekly group sessions.
  • Data will be collected - intake to include clinical assessments and screening measures.
  • Participants will complete pre, quarterly and post screenings to measure their symptoms throughout the project.

Provide a structured healing recovery protocol that includes:

  • 2 - Weekly In-Person 90 minute Integrated Group Therapy Sessions
  • One 50 Minute Private Session per client once a month via Zoom

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide individual & group therapy
  • Lead and facilitate group therapy twice weekly for Service Members Veterans and Families.
  • Complete pre, quarterly and post screenings to measure symptoms throughout the project.
  • Actively participate in biweekly team based meetings providing insight to clinical data.
  • Complete all notes within 3 days
  • Train students and new employees when needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work Monday and Wednesday evening in-person.
  • Must have a valid VA license (e.g., LCMHC, LCMHC-A, LMFT-A, LMFT, LCSW-A, or LCSW) is essential.
  • Behavioral Therapy skills are required for this position.

Preferences, not required: have one year of postgraduate

individual therapy experience with solid skills. Music Therapy

and or Trauma therapy experience.

Qualifications:

  • Solid therapy skills. Cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness skills are required for this position.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills: Has active listening skills.
  • Appropriately, clearly and effectively communicate with others.
  • Has a mature and professional manner and non - judgmental and positive attitude.
  • Personality: Being caring, empathetic, friendly; pleasant, easy going, flexible. Emotional maturity, compassion and sensitivity to the feelings of others.
  • Has a good work ethic: being reliable and responsible, showing genuine care for the clients, and striving to provide high-quality care.
  • Showing up to work on time and completing the notes within 3 days.
  • Strong motivation and eagerness to learn and read. Strives for self improvement.
  • Good concentration, mental stability and stress tolerance:
  • Able to focus and have a clear mind. Able to manage the stress in life and work. Stay calm and maintain stable performance under pressure.
  • Takes good direction from supervisory team and implements required tasks when asked.
  • A Master & degree in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or related field; OR, any equivalent
  • combination of training and/or experience that provides the Licensed as a Social Worker, Marriage/Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor required.
  • Completes other job duties as assigned

ABOUT Music Theory Studios – Music Therapy Program

BEATS by VETS is designed to address mental health issues that

arise from trauma and substance abuse addiction. The program

structure is a combination of group psychotherapy protocols that

utilize evidence-based clinical models with music therapy by certified

trauma specialists and AVID ProTools Certified Audio Engineers.

Through the combination of evidence based clinical modalities and

professional music instruction, clients will experience a significant

reduction in severe depressive episodes and suicidal thought, urges,

behaviors, and ideation due to unresolved trauma.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $42.00 - $56.00 per hour

License/Certification: master& degree with licensure as a LPC,

LCSW, LADC, or LMFT (Required)
