Addiction Counselor Next Steps Program (LMHC/LMFT)

Job Summary

Montefiore Wellness Center is the largest medical school affiliated treatment program in the United States. Our program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 3,500 patients.

We are seeking an addiction counselor (LMHC, LMFT) to join our Next Steps substance abuse treatment program.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Complete psychosocial assessments of patients and family members.
• Provide individual, group, and family treatment to patients and families as needed.
• Conduct group and individual orientation sessions for new patients.
• Provide social work and case management services to a caseload of patients.
• Complete mental status examinations and DSM–5 diagnosis.
• Develop treatment goals and objectives and monitor patient progress.
• Develops an individual treatment plan at the appropriate intervals for all patients on assigned caseload.
• Maintain clinical records in compliance with State and Federal regulatory agency requirements and program policies and procedures.
• Documents all interventions and significant contacts with the patient and other agencies. Participates in Interdisciplinary Case Conferences.
• Act as an advocate for patients with schools and other social service agencies.

Qualifications and Skills

• LMHC or LMFT (or permit) is required
• Minimum of one year experience in substance abuse treatment is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong computer skills are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
