We manage every aspect of the fundraising process—from strategy development and donor cultivation to event execution and follow-through.
Our expertise extends to event planning and management, where we handle every detail: securing venues and accommodations, designing compelling invitations, coordinating with attendees and committees, and managing all day-of-event logistics. Through our Fundraising Management services, we oversee call time programs, personal networking, and candidate interviews, while maintaining databases of contacts, commitments, and outreach activity.
Simply put, L Squared is a one-stop shop for all of our clients’ fundraising needs.
Position Overview
The Political Fundraising Assistant provides comprehensive administrative, logistical, and event coordination support to our team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and an understanding of the fundraising landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination
- Assist with planning and execution of client fundraising events, including venue coordination, catering, and on-site logistics.
- Draft and send email communications, newsletters, and event reminders.
- Schedule meetings, calls, and industry events for clients.
- Design and distribute flyers, invitations, and newsletters using Canva and Constant Contact.
- Manage contact lists, update RSVPs, pledges and payments in our databases, and ensure accuracy of donor and attendee records.
- Ensure contributions are tracked accurately per client.
Client Support
- Support clients during meetings or interviews by taking notes, tracking follow-ups, and summarizing next steps.
- Support clients during fundraising calls, taking notes, tracking follow-ups, and summarizing next steps.
- Prepare meeting notes, action item lists, and follow-up summaries in a timely manner.
Accounting Support
- Create and maintain event contribution lists and payment tracking spreadsheets.
- Coordinate with finance teams to track pledges and payments; follow up on outstanding pledges.
- Generate and submit invoices.
Office Administration
- Staff the office during business hours, ensuring a professional office environment.
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
· Maintain organized calendars.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 2–4 years of professional experience in political fundraising, event planning, or administrative support.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Constant Contact, Asana, Canva, Google Workspace, Social Tables, and iDonate.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, human resources, marketing, business, event management, hospitality management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events or urgent deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and confident in interactions with clients, donors, and elected officials.

Employment Terms
- Hourly Rate Range: $23-30/hour
- Schedule: 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)
- Probationary Period: 60 days
