A K-12 school in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support the social and emotional well-being of students throughout the academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and school staff to address a variety of social challenges, promote mental health, and enhance student success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and social work services to students across K-12 grade levels
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop individualized support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community resources to coordinate interventions
- Facilitate crisis intervention and provide guidance during emergencies
- Support the development of programs aimed at improving student social skills and resilience
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (Bachelors or Masters preferred) with relevant licensure or certification
- Experience working in K-12 school settings or with student populations
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and related social issues
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse students, families, and school personnel
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
