Provide career counseling to and assist in the professional development of both the student and alumni communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in developing and maintaining campus programs reflecting the Christian values of the institution and that meet the needs of a diverse body of students.
- Provide career counseling to students and alumni regarding goal setting, self-assessment, career information, decision-making, job search process, and graduate and/or professional school planning.
- Assist in teaching career-related workshops and classes.
- Apply theories and models of career development, counseling, and human development in working with students and alumni.
- Compile data and generate departmental reports.
- Provide students with individual résumé critiques and coach interview techniques.
- Execute mock Interviews with students.
- Participate in the planning and execution of events related to generating and supporting internship and job opportunities, including internship and career fairs as well as employer presentations.
- Assist in the development and execution of new programming to promote career readiness.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with employers.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide new and ongoing opportunities for students.
- Assist in the management of the Career Center Management System (Handshake).
- Assist with maintaining and providing Social Media Content.
This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete work assignments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Counseling, Psychology, Human Development, Education, or related field; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
