The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.
Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is seeking a dedicated and professional Associate 1-2-3 to a Psychologist to play a vital role in assisting with the psychiatric support needs of the clients supported by Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Designs individual behavior programs, including a clear description of the behavior, goals and objectives of program, appropriate historical information including functions of behavior derived from functional analysis, reasons for selection of procedure based on functional analysis, any needed equipment or materials, preventive strategies, intervention strategies, data collection procedures, evaluation process including reviews, success criterion and procedures for change, and recommendations for maintenance of effects.
  • Instructs staff involved with individuals for whom intervention strategies are proposed in carrying out procedures and recording of results, and consults with staff.
  • Provides needed materials for implementation of programs, including data keeping forms, charts, etc. 
  • Provides individual and group sessions as determined by the supervising Psychologist.
  • Monitors effects of interventions via Performance Probes as defined in ISP by making on-site observations of individuals and recording results of observation (reliability checks).
  • Monitors training objectives through support folder documentation forms.
  • Makes changes in programs.
  • Provides professional and technical support to direct care and other staff through frequent visits to individuals’ homes.
  • Defines needed resources in terms of staff, materials, and supplies for replacement behaviors, reinforcement programs, and group and individual therapy.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of programming efforts by reviewing data and progress documentation in individuals’ records and coordinates service delivery with other departments.
  • Evaluates program efforts and makes changes and recommendations.
  • Meets registration eligibility as required by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners in Psychology for ATAPs.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Preferences may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
Career Progression: Associate 1-2-3 to a Psychologist
Location: LDH Psychology with Pinecrest Supports and Services Center
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Pass Days: Saturday and Sunday
