SCHOOL BASED MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) is seeking Licensed Child and Adolescent Therapists to advance student mental health by providing School Based Mental Health Services in Columbia, Charleston, and surrounding areas. Therapists will provide assessment, treatment planning, crisis management, and individual, family and group therapy to students in grades preK-12 in the public-school setting. Services will be provided in-person and/or via telehealth year-round. Some home visits may be required.

- Desire to work in a school setting
- Background in addressing student mental health needs in school-based or community settings
- Experience providing trauma-informed care
- Excellent clinical judgment
- High level collaboration and communication skills
- High energy, a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Ability to organize and maintain a caseload and student clinical records in accordance with SCYAP's quality assurance program standards
- Ability to submit necessary documentation in a timely fashion
- Participation in school team meetings as needed
- Consultation and collaboration with teachers, school counselors, administration and other relevant school staff as needed
What SCYAP requires of you:
- Master's degree in a human services related field, such as Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- Experience in mental health, counseling or working with youth and families
- Licensure by the state of South Carolina as one of the following: LMSW, LISW, LPC, or LPC-A
- Completion of any and all required pre-service training and documentation
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation with requisite registration and insurance
- Commitment to working the hours necessary to meet students’ needs in the school setting
