About Job

Women's Village Counselor. Performs substance abuse and mental health counseling work on an individual client basis and in a group setting. Also provides evaluation, screening and assessment services. Responsible for servicing primary caseload along with other clients as assigned, and documenting in accordance with company standards.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
Screening, service coordination and treatment planning
Continuing assessment, documentation of progress and treatment plan reviews
Crisis intervention and recovery support services
Psychological assessment, referral and consultation
Individual, family and community education
Counseling in individual and group settings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree required, degree must be in a related field of counseling, psychology, social work or human services with prior experience.
One years' experience in counseling work in individual, family and group settings required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to write accurately and legibly
Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
Ability to bend and to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Treatment program / Office
Fast paced environment
Exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior
Possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver's license or ID card.
Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
