Pre-Vocational Counselor

The Pre-Vocational Counselor will provide Psycho-Social Skill-Building groups and activities to an Adult Mental Health population.

MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES
To provide direct service to program members
 Create/facilitate psychosocial skill-building groups
 Monitor and Assess client behavior and wellbeing on a daily basis
 Develop treatment/program plans for clients
 Create/facilitate special projects and activities 
Supervise clients during all program activities
To complete necessary paperwork
 Preparation and updating of individual treatment/program plans
 Complete progress reviews
 Complete daily progress notes
 Complete weekly summaries (if applicable)
To Receive Supervision
 Attend morning program meetings, as scheduled 
Participate in client staffing with other members of the treatment team
 Attend and participate in staff meetings
 Complete all trainings as scheduled
Miscellaneous
 Assist with lunch service on a daily basis
 Participate in staff development through trainings and in-service activities
 Communicate/collaborate with residential and case management staff 
Develop familiarity with various SCMHC departments and functions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES 
PC - Internet
 Typing
 Ability to use Zoom
 Must be able to assess client behaviors and recommend appropriate interventions.
 Must accurately and in a timely manner articulate program and client issues/concerns verbally and in writing.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences
