About Job

This Master's level clinical position requires a clinically astute individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The Outpatient Clinician is responsible for providing trauma informed clinical services to children and adults through individual, group, and family/couples therapy at the outpatient mental health clinic of Italian Home for Children- Brighton Allston Mental Health Association. Provides in person therapy at the Brighton clinic, as well as remote telehealth as clinically appropriate. Minimum three days in person services. In person and remote telehealth work schedule is subject to change. Flexible schedule, with required evening hours at least two days per week. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

The Outpatient Clinician works with clients throughout the lifespan (4-80+ years) that are experiencing major mental illness and/or have experienced complex trauma and adversity that has impacted them socially, emotionally, and/or behaviorally. The Outpatient Clinician is also responsible for case management and consultation services. The Outpatient Clinician works closely with other treatment providers to ensure the highest quality of care to clients and their families.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  • Provide individual, group, and family/couples therapy to clients
  • Maintain regular contact with outside collaterals and parents/legal guardians
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Attend treatment planning and other relevant clinical meetings
  • Write initial psychosocial assessments, initial treatment plans, CANS assessments, quarterly treatment reviews, progress notes, and discharge summaries within agency policy documentation requirements
  • Maintain set billable productivity expectations - at least 30 hours per week
  • Learn, implement, and demonstrate an understanding of the agency training and treatment philosophy
  • Evening and weekend clinician on-call duties approximately 1-2 weeks per quarter
  • Demonstrated support and belief in the agency’s treatment philosophy, values, and mission
  • Master's-level degree in social work or related field
  • License eligible required; MA state independent clinical license preferred (LICSW, LMHC)
  • Second language capacity preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Experience working with children, adults, and their families; experience providing treatment to clients with social, emotional, and trauma concerns as well as mental health
  • Evidence of sensitivity and respect for client’s culture and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of individual, group, and family/couples therapy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as computer literacy
  • Strong organizational skills, skilled at multi-tasking and prioritizing, skilled at meeting deadlines
  • Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development
  • Confidence and strength at responding to emergencies quickly and safely
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to agency, employee and client information; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions

The expected annual base salary for this role is between $60,000-$67,000 USD, dependent on experience. This number does not reflect additional compensation-related benefits such as PTO, medical and life insurance, EAP, and the Italian Home for Children 403(b) retirement plan.
