PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

The Residential Aide (RA) Manager reports to the Program Director and will ensure all security needs are met within all EHP facilities. This individual is responsible for supervising RAs and SRAs staff, ensuring these individuals maintain required training. The RA Manager must also monitor housing incidents and ensure site rules are adhered to.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Works with Program Director to ensure quality services are being provided to clients residing in EHP facilities.

· Enforces and complies with all HSNY rules, policies and procedures.

· Enforces and complies with regulatory policies.

· Directs a staff of Residential Aides in providing direct assistance to the clients in adhering to the rules and regulations of the shelter.

  • Monitors all client complaints and incidents.
  • Provides guidance and direction to the Residential Aides ensuring adequate coverage for each shift; monitoring their performance and initiating administrative action as warranted.
  • Provides training of staff through on-site sessions as well as referrals to outside training sources.
  • Ensures that any incident is recorded in the Logbook, but especially that priority incidents are called in to the Shelter Director, Assistant Shelter Director and DHS and that documentation is subsequently provided to supervisory staff in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the operation of the facility, including handling emergency and crisis situations.
  • Provides orientation for new hires, informing them of shelter rules and regulations, giving them a tour of the facility.
  • Participates in daily meetings and shares any observations on the behavior of clients that might be useful to the Case Managers.

· Supervise all Residential Aids and Senior Residential Aide Staff.

· Ensures that RA intake forms are complete and submitted to Social Services.

· Follows up on any issues with unit inspections/wellness checks.

· Ensures that Narcan shift reports are submitted nightly.

· Reviews all shift reports submitted.

· Ensure the security of the physical facility (inside and outside).

· Ensure the supervision of the security desk and daily logbook.

· Answer and report all incidents to the Program Director.

· Ensure that all lobbies and front of building are always cleared.

· Ensures that adequate coverage is in place for all shifts.

· Assist with fire drills and emergency evacuations.

· Schedule relief staff as needed.

· Submit shelter daily census and site list.

· Ensures all staff are up to date.

· Take periodic inventory of supplies and uniforms.

· Conduct all mandatory evacuation drills, documents result and implement improvement procedures as needed

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

· Associates degree or some college

· Two years’ experience supervising ten or more staff

· 5 or more years’ experience working in a security agency or maintenance capacity

· Proper certifications are as followed: NYS Security License, Eight and Sixteen-hour certificate, NYC fire safety coordinator (F24), First Aid and CPR Certificate, F80 certification (or ability to obtain licensing).

SUPERVISION: Occasionally instructs or assists other employees. Sometimes delegates work assignments to others as directed by supervisor.

close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel locally using public transportation.

For some positions, the employee must be able to enter and work at prisons and jail and must be able to obtain prison/jail clearance for entry.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
