About Job

Description

We are seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist specializing in children and adolescents for the Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). The Division of Psychology is home to clinical and research psychologists and has an APA-accredited clinical psychology internship and an APPIC-approved postdoctoral fellowship program.

This position is intended to expand our services in child and adolescent behavioral health including inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment. We are the only provider of inpatient mental health services in middle Tennessee. The psychologist will work within a multidisciplinary setting with child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers and residents providing comprehensive, integrated care.

The position includes providing psychological assessment and treatment for outpatient clinical services. We currently serve a large and growing range of child referrals involving anxiety and mood disorders. There are excellent departmental resources to facilitate inpatient and outpatient service delivery, including individual, group, and pharmaceutical treatment.

The faculty member is expected to participate in clinical teaching and supervision. This would include participation in seminars for trainees in psychology, psychiatry, and other specialties such as pediatrics and neurology. There are multiple opportunities for trainee supervision at practicum, predoctoral, and postdoctoral levels. We also have an environment that is rich with research opportunities, both investigator-initiated and in collaboration with other colleagues in the Department and throughout VUMC.

VUMC is a top-tier academic medical research institution that offers an attractive benefits package and competitive salaries.

Academic rank will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.

The broader Nashville area in central Tennessee boasts a low cost of living and has a range of excellent public and private schools. Residents enjoy an active music scene, outstanding restaurants, and a range of sporting and entertainment venues.

Qualifications

Applicants should be license eligible in Tennessee. We will consider applicants across all academic ranks and tracks.
