PART-TIME REHABILITATION COUNSELOR

At King Health Systems, our goal is to provide individualized mental health care to individuals and families in need. We provide outpatient mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation services, and medication management to clients in the West Baltimore Area. Our clients often have co-occurring substance abuse disorders and are receiving PRP services to support their activities of daily living.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Timeliness & Reliability- Shows up on time, attends scheduled meetings, completes notes/documentation on time, responds to communication promptly.

  • Completes assessments and IRPs on time.
  • Document all client contacts and sessions in a well written Progress Note within 24 hours after encounter.
  • Attends and actively participates (with camera on) in supervision, PRP meetings, and weekly Wednesday meetings.
  • Participates in group on Mondays--showing up on time.
  • Attending required supervision sessions with their designated supervisor.

  • Collaborating bi-weekly with the therapist of each client on your caseload and documenting this collaboration in the monthly summary.

Role-Specific Expertise - Applies appropriate skills and knowledge for their specific position (e.g., clinical, EMR, admin, outreach).

  • Providing clients with employment support, stress management, budgeting and money management, coping skills, socialization skills, housing support, parenting skills and mentoring services to clients in their home, community, and office based on their IRP.
  • Demonstrating medical necessity and identifying the goal(s) in each progress note.

Professional Boundaries & Ethics - Maintains appropriate relationships with clients and other staff, and upholds ethical standards, including confidentiality and conduct.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality according to the federal and state guidelines and requirements.
  • Uphold the professional code of ethics.

Openness to Feedback & Growth - Receives and applies feedback constructively. Demonstrates a desire to improve or learn.

  • Receives feedback with professionalism and openness; actively applies suggestions to improve performance and demonstrates a consistent commitment to personal and professional growth.

Productivity & Caseload Management- Meets job-specific expectations for sessions, tasks, or deliverables. Manages workload efficiently.

  • Completes at least 50% of sessions in person, for a minimum of 30 mins for adults and minimum 60 mins for children.
  • Provides limited telehealth sessions (must be pre-approved) - minimum 15 mins for both children and adults.

Quality & Accuracy of Documentation- Notes and records are timely, accurate, clinically sound, and Medicaid-compliant.

  • Maintains accurate and timely clinical records consistent with COMAR regulations in EMR (electronic medical record). Documents clients' progress and medical eligibility.
  • Completes a progress note for each IRP and Assessment that is completed.

Required Education, Experience, Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable personal transportation
  • Must be able to service all parts of PG County.

Required Other Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have experience working as a rehabilitation counselor at a psychiatric rehabilitation program (PRP).
  • Must be able and willing to perform duties competently, professionally, and ethically.
  • Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, and clients.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
