Summary:

Responsible for providing clinical services to a wide range of individuals and families including but not limited to foster and adopted child(ren) of all ages and their foster or adoptive families. This part-time office-based position has a billing expectation that will be determined based on weekly hours worked. Most appointments are likely to occur after school hours and at the Caring for Kids office. This Counselor will report directly to the Director of Behavioral Health.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-office therapy to children of all ages, families, or groups as clinically indicated
  • Participate in case staffings with other service providers
  • Complete initial diagnostic assessments for clients to determine treatment needs, as well as conduct ongoing assessments to determine continued need for services and goal achievement
  • Develop initial treatment plans and updates at a minimum of every 90 days to include age-appropriate clinical measurable goals and objectives
  • Implement evidenced-based therapeutic modalities such as TF-CBT and TBRI to meet the needs of clients
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions
  • Observe, monitor and record client behaviors
  • Utilize electronic records system to complete required documentation for compliance and billing, within set time frames
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required
  • Follow all policies and procedures established by Caring for Kids, Inc.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work preferred
  • Licensed by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
  • Valid Driver’s license and car insurance as well as a reliable vehicle, valid registration, and clean driving record


Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

  • Personal or professional foster care/adoption experience preferred
  • Proficiency in clinical diagnosis and understanding of the DSM-V
  • Thorough and clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to analyze a client and implement treatment plan with proficiency
  • Flexible schedule including nights and weekends
