School Psychologist for SY25/26 - Inkster MI

Position Title: School Psychologist
Hours per Week: 37.5
Employment Dates: September 2, 2025 June 11, 2026
Work Environment: Onsite

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary support team for the 20252026 academic year. This full-time, on-site position involves providing comprehensive psychological services to students in alignment with both state and district guidelines. The School Psychologist will play a critical role in assessing student needs, supporting interventions, and fostering mental wellness across the school community.

This role requires collaboration with educators, administrators, special education teams, and families to promote academic success and emotional well-being for all students, particularly those with identified learning or behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to identify cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional strengths and needs.

  • Participate in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Prepare clear and actionable evaluation reports in compliance with Michigan Department of Education guidelines and special education regulations.

Intervention & Student Support

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and monitor effective intervention strategies using MTSS/RTI frameworks.

  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis support to students, as appropriate.

  • Support social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and student wellness programming.

Consultation & Collaboration

  • Serve as a consultant to school teams and families regarding academic, behavioral, and emotional concerns.

  • Work closely with general and special education staff to build classroom supports and manage student behavior plans.

  • Participate in child study and problem-solving teams to ensure early identification and intervention for at-risk students.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant records for all evaluations and services provided.

  • Support procedural compliance related to IDEA, Section 504, and district special education policies.

  • Assist in data collection and progress monitoring for students receiving interventions or special education services.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology

  • Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification required by the start date

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in K12 school settings, particularly within multidisciplinary or special education teams

  • Familiarity with conducting assessments for a range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional impairments, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong foundation in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation

  • Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and evaluation timelines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of educators and families

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices in school psychology

Caseload Information:

  • Caseload will consist of students across multiple grade levels and service areas

  • Specific caseload details, building assignments, and student demographics will be discussed during the interview process
