Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and family counseling, crisis intervention, and special education. This role involves working closely with students, families, and educational staff to support the mental health and academic success of students. The School Psychologist will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing counseling services to students with diverse needs.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with educators to create safety plans and behavior management strategies.
- Offer crisis intervention services to students in need of immediate support.
- Work with families to provide resources and referrals for additional services as necessary.
- Engage in conflict management and resolution strategies within the school environment.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and terminology related to patient care.
- Participate in early intervention programs for at-risk students.
- Conduct psychological testing as needed to inform educational planning.
Skills
- Strong background in child & family counseling and crisis management.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities.
- Proficient in special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and educational staff.
- Ability to manage cases effectively while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficient in medical documentation practices related to psychological services.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills to address challenges within the school environment. Pay: $44.58 - $59.00 per hour
