Definition
This group counselor position will provide co-facilitation in a group setting for our Batterer's intervention group services to male and female offenders. This position is responsible to facilitate groups utilizing the provided batterer's intervention curriculum/Duluth Model to clients at Renewal's re-entry center. This individual will complete assessments during the intake process with new clients as well as complete regular recordkeeping, to include attendance and participation levels for each client within the required data entry systems. This position promotes community, family, and child safety. The goal in group facilitation with domestic violence offenders will focus on decreasing risk of re-offense by ongoing evaluation of information, comprehension and skills acquisition with demonstrated practice.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Knowledge of Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Policy, or other related field; Human relations skills must; should become familiar with the criminal justice system and community resources. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management, employees, and group participants; ability to deal effectively with group participants and referral sources; self- starting, motivated, and adapt to changing technology; Proven skills at problem solving, conducting research; Should be computer literate particularly in Microsoft Office.
A Bachelors' Degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work or related field and 2 years' related experience required.
