A school district in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified School Psychologist for an elementary school setting. This contract position for the 2023-2024 school year offers an opportunity to support students academic, social, and emotional growth in a dynamic educational environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary-aged children and a solid understanding of psychological assessment, intervention, and counseling strategies tailored to school settings. This role requires collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide data-driven insights to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments to identify student needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement intervention plans
  • Support school staff with behavioral strategies and classroom management techniques
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of IEPs and 504 plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal regulations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist
  • Experience working with elementary students
  • Strong knowledge of assessment tools and best practices in school psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage caseloads and prioritize responsibilities effectively
