Albany Med’s Psychiatry department includes a 26-bed acute inpatient unit, a consultation-liaison service seeing patients throughout the hospital, an outpatient psychiatry teaching clinic, an outpatient practice, and an integrated care program at multiple clinical sites. Our ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program has 28 residents and trains Albany Medical College medical and physician assistant students, as well as psychology practicum students, interns, and post-doctoral fellows.
We are seeking a full time Outpatient Psychiatrist as well as a full time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our faculty. Hours are Monday-Friday with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities Include
- Provide direct adult or child and adolescent hospital based and outpatient psychiatric care
- Hospital and ER consultation
- ECT and TMS
- Education and supervision of psychiatry residents and medical students
- Research and quality improvement projects are encouraged
- Contribution to weekend department call schedule with additional compensation (adult only)
Adult Psychologist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Full time with opportunities for clinical work in the outpatient practice and within the consultation-liaison service
- Teaching/training and collaborative research
- Provide clinical supervision to trainees including postdoctoral fellows, psychology interns, psychology practicum students, resident physicians, social workers, and mental health counseling students.
- Psychologists:
- Must possess a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) or equivalent from a university qualified and accredited to provide clinical graduate training in psychology and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must possess a license to practice psychology in NYS (or eligible for NYS licensure) and have passed necessary licensing exams and post-doctoral training.
- If more than two years post-training, provide evidence of continuing education hours consistent with AMC policy.
- Licensed Clinical Social workers:
- Must currently hold a license in NYS, all clinical hours MUST be satisfied.
