United Preschool Center, a Division of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester, is seeking a part time school psychologist as a leave replacement.
SUMMARY
Responsible for the development and implementation of behavioral services in the children’s programs.
Direct behavioral services:
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavioral management plans.
- Apply strategies for crisis intervention and prevention in accordance with existing established policies and procedures.
- Conduct behavioral observations and monitoring of behavioral strategies.
- Design behavioral strategies based on a positive behavioral support philosophy or as needed per students IEP.
- Staff Consultation
- Conduct on-gong in-service training sessions and employee orientation sessions as needed related to behavioral management process, policy and procedure.
- Provide direct guidance to staff in implementing behavioral strategies and in collecting behavioral data.
Clinical Functions:
- Conduct clinical assessments as needed at onset and duration of participant’s attendance in program services.
- Provide therapeutic counseling session and parent counseling and training as indicated on IEP
- Collect data on student progress based on IEP goals
- Attend all meetings applicable to position functions.
- Conduct or participate in special meetings when revisions of behavior plans are required, or special behavioral concerns are identified.
- Establish a system to collect and analyze data to track increases/decreases and trends in behavior.
- Review existing behavior strategies and analyze possible alternative approaches to suit specific participant needs.
- Submit required documentation that conforms with case review conferences regarding behaviors, progress with special programs and non-compliance.
- Provide consultation and training with school age education staff regarding behavior management issues within the classroom.
- Work efficiently with interdisciplinary team to develop and assist in the modification of specific behavior needs of individuals.
- Provide training to staff and conduct student groups with regard to the Preschool PBIS system
- Implement, collect and interpret data collection for the preschool PBIS system
- Complete required training to comply with OCFS, OPWDD, SED, NYS Education Department, and CPW agency required trainings.
- Maintain necessary NYS Certifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Drivers License
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
- Certification in CPR
- Certificated instruction-Handle with Care Preschool
- Computer and software skills.
- Team player with the ability to develop strong relationships with individuals, families and staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in School Psychology or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) experience in behavior modification or related programs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
