Assistant Professor - Psychology

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Lehman College, part of The City University of New York, is among the top five institutions nationally for fostering social mobility. The Department of Psychology at Lehman College, CUNY, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, starting August 2026. The focus areas are:

  1. Clinical Psychology
  2. Neuropsychology, including clinical, developmental, and cross-cultural neuropsychology

Candidates should have a research and publication record appropriate to their experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to external funding and undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an active research program, seek external funding, teach undergraduate courses, mentor students, and serve on department and college committees. Some in-person and evening teaching may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology, or related field
  • Effective teaching and communication skills
  • Scholarly achievement and collaborative potential

Preferred qualifications include a robust publication and funding record and an innovative research program. The candidate should be interested in mentoring undergraduate research and joining the doctoral faculty of the CUNY Graduate Center.

Compensation: $109,025 for a 9-month full-time appointment. Benefits include health insurance, pension, paid parental leave, and research support.
