Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor to join our growing Behavioral Health team in New City, NY.

RATE OF PAY/SALARY: LMHC $65,000 / LMSW $70,000-75,000 /LCSW $80,000-82,000

SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm / 1 evening shift per week 11am-7pm

WORK LOCATION(S): New City, NY

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Provides diagnostic evaluations and psycho-social assessments to patients with defined mental health problems and who are at risk of or are currently abusing alcohol or drugs.
  • Assists patients and their families through individual, group and education conferences to understand, accept and follow treatment recommendations.
  • Refers patients and their families to specialized treatment programs in accordance with their needs; monitors and evaluates their progress.
  • Provides individual psychotherapy to a full caseload of patients for various mental health issues including individuals that require counseling, e.g. HIV/AIDS, Chemical Dependency.
  • Collaborates with the other department Directors to integrate care where needed
  • Maintains current and appropriate documentation in patient chart.
  • Assists the Director of Behavioral Health in conducting in-service training for Cornerstone Family Healthcare medical staff on identifying and dealing with substance abuse, depression screening and other mental health illnesses.
  • Acts as a mandated reporter in suspected child abuse cases.
  • Provides updates to the Director of Behavioral Health on a monthly basis.
  • Attends monthly Continuous Quality Improvement and Clinical Operations Committee meetings
  • Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Family Healthcare Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone Family Healthcare including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Nursing, certified by New York State where applicable.
  • LMSW/LCSW/LMHC is required.
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
